There are a few days when the weather is just right here in New York City: not too hot but not too cold, with a gentle breeze that comes with rays of sun flowing through billowy clouds. On those days, I always find it’s nice to head to Central Park to clear my head between meetings.
As a matter of fact, I’m kind of known for scheduling things around park locations like this so I can take a moment to breathe. New York has a pace that can be absolutely crushing if you’re not careful, so cutting through its gorgeous natural features on the way to another commitment is one of my favorite ways to enjoy the summer. It’s nice to feel like you had a mini vacation, even if you’re just walking from Barneys New York to Columbus Circle.
I also find that it’s nice to give my lips a break on days like that, which is when I turn to hydrating lip products, like Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Maya. It gives great coverage without screaming “RED! BROWN! LOOK AT MY MOUTH!” and hydrates like nobody’s business. Contrary to popular belief, I do love a good nude lip, and this gorgeous terra cotta pink is a great step up from a clear gloss for a good number of skin tones (I would LOVE to see this on gals with deep, rich skin.)
It’s a lovely neutral shade, perfect for days when you just want to relax and enjoy a natural, easy look and feel.
And it’ll stay on through the occasional ice cream cone. Trust me: I’ve done my homework.
Stila Color Balm Lipstick in Maya retails for $22 and is available via Sephora. The lipstick also comes in other great shades. You’ll see another one next week. 🙂
