Before I made it to front of house, I hobbed on my “strained” ankle backstage to Clover Canyon to check out the magic with Kevyn Aucoin Beauty.
Lead makeup artist Deanna Melluso says the makeup look was crafted to match the Johnny Cash-meets-desert-inspired collection, which means dusty cool. She prepped the skin using Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Primer, then followed with Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer all over the skin to provide a gorgeous skin look and feel. She then used Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Eye Definer in Brunette in the brow to enhance them to a 80’s Brooke Shields level.
Then two products were used to create the eye look: Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Bronzing Veil in Tropical Days and the same product in Tropical Nights down the base of the nose and along the bottom of the face to get a bronzed, dusty effect as if you’d been driving in a convertible for a few days.
Lip is neutral with matted down Kevyn Aucoin The Lip Tint in Faith matted down with Kevyn Aucoin The Gossamer Loose Powder in Diaphonous. The look was finished by curling the lashes using Kevyn Aucoin The Eyelash Curler, then topped with his signature Kevyn Aucoin The Mascara Volumizing in Rich Pitch Black.
The nails, if you can believe it by looking at the model, are KISS Nails that simply adhere to the top of the natural nail. The color, High Hopes, is a very pretty pastel pink, subdued so it doesn’t compete with the clothing. The hue will be available come spring. Hair was crafted into a slight pompadour shape, then secured in the back in a rough, low ponytail.
