This post is brought to you as part of my role as a Brand Ambassador for Simple Skincare, but the opinions and thoughts expressed within are strictly my own.
Holiday travel means that I have to condense my entire beauty routine down to only a few products. I know, I know they make travel sizes of things, but I feel like traveling can be stressful enough without adding tons of tiny bottles and a giant bag of beauty items meant to replicate the comforts of home. Because it’s not your home and no amount of 3 fl oz. bottles are going to suddenly make it feel that way. Pare it down to the essentials, improvise, rinse, repeat.
This was one of the first seasons I packed Simple Skincare Radiance Facial Wipes as part of the pared-down beauty regimen. I figured my mother had my other Simple Skincare products there (I sent a box ahead of myself because I’m THAT person) but the wipes were easily tossed into a carry-on bag. Ladies and gentlemen, after The Epic Holiday Journey Home, allow me to tell you that I have a whole new respect for these little wipes, and I discovered some new uses for their amazing cleansing abilities. They are, in no order of importance:
Amazing for ridding yourself of holiday yuck – There is something so, um, narst about traveling all day. Canned airplane air, tight spaces with other people, and a lot of time spent in airport and airplane bathrooms can change a person. I used these wipes a couple of times during the day to not feel so…icky…and to be kind to my skin. Love them.
The cure for, um, sweaty moments – Alright, let’s face it: sitting in an airplane seat for hours can lead to swampy conditions all over. A quick dash to the airport bathroom upon landing at my destination cured this condition. I don’t need to elaborate. You know exactly what I’m talking about, especially if you have larger breasts and you’re rocking an underwire bra for long periods of time.
The wonder product for the harried mom in the next aisle – I had a woman on my outbound flight who had a toddler that decided he was not interested in sleep, snacks, story time – none of it. His goal was to explore this new environment and talk to other passengers and when that goal wasn’t realized, he expressed his dismay by throwing The Mother of All Temper Tantrums, which included spilling a carton of milk and Cheerios all over his mother. Ta-da! Wipes to the rescue. I was also able to help her soothe said toddler while she cleaned up. He stopped crying when I was holding him, so I guess it was my glowing skin…?
No hand soap available? No problem! – You touch a billion surfaces in an airport, it seems. Do YOU want to keep getting up every time you have a snack or realize some other mystery stain has made it onto your person for the 11th time this hour? No, you do not. Wipes, people. Wipes.
Glowing skin upon landing – I know Simple Skincare spokeswoman Allison Williams also does this, but wiping your face with a cleansing wipe right before you hit the ground is the new version of spritzing your face with fancy water: it helps refresh and rehydrate your face and it removes surface dirt and germs you pick up while breathing Other People’s Air. Wipe your face, apply a quick face of light makeup (I don’t wear makeup on flights unless they’re less than an hour) and you’re good to go!
Keep your beauty routine simple when you fly and you might discover a whole new way of staying glam and gorgeous under pressure. One product, so many uses. Sometimes, it’s just that simple.
