As you know, I am a huge fan of all things M·A·C Cosmetics, particularly their extraordinary efforts to raise money for AIDS research via the M·A·C AIDS Fund and its efforts to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally. I humbly submit that there may be no stronger supporter and visible champion for this cause than current spokeswoman Lady Gaga. Always outspoken, I admire what she’s done to raise awareness for equality and to help raise money via her connection to the makeup company. For all you have done for M·A·C and for the causes you champion, Gaga, I salute you.
Today, you get to see the newest installation of her genius, created at the end of her reign as the current spokesperson for Viva Glam. Via VivaGlam.com, Gaga harnessed the power of her fan base, her “monsters,” who contributed self-portraits and helped spread the word about “living with passion and loving with protection,” resulting in thousands of messages of support for the campaign. Gaga’s right-hand, Fashion Director of The Haus of Gaga Nicola Formichetti used selected images from these messages to create “The Masterpiece,” a dress that will be revealed during a short film debuting today on the Viva Glam website as well as M·A·C’s Facebook page.
To date, Gaga and her Monsters have raised $55 million for the M·A·C AIDS Fund. As this, one of her final acts as spokesperson for Viva Glam brings her time to a close, she’s encouraging everyone to continue to support the cause to raise her intended $250 million goal.
Check back on the VivaGlam site today and M·A·C ‘s Facebook page to catch the short film. As with everything connected to Gaga and M·A·C , it will be nothing short of spectacular. Also, if you’re in need a gorgeous nude lipstick that will go with everything and every skin tone, please do find it in your heart and wallet to pick up a Viva Glam Gaga lipstick or Lipglass. After all, giving back is the most beautiful act of all.
