Beauty For a Cause: Nicki and Ricky For MAC VIVA GLAM

You know that I hold M·A·C Cosmetics near and dear to my heart. A makeup company that creates so many products a year (and all of them are GOOD) but one that also does so much good in the world. Makeup that teaches self-expression, self-respect and continues to take care of the sick and forgotten in our society? That, dear readers, is why they’re stuck with me as a  staunch supporter.

At the end of  New York Fashion Week, the company had the official launch party for its two newest spokespeople for VIVA GLAMNicki Minaj and Ricky Martin. Held at a warehouse off the West Side Highway, it was quite the shindig. I must admit in the spirit of full disclosure that, while I was invited to this amazing party, I arrived early, promptly got the beginnings of the world’s most wicked migraine and had to leave early.

The tragedy of this isn’t that I missed the party or even that I spent the night sick at the end of Fashion Week. No, lovelies, the crime is that I AM THE WORLD’S BIGGEST RICKY MARTIN FAN. There. I said it loud and proud. So, I guess it’s a good thing I wasn’t there or I might have gone into what Oprah calls “the ugly cry” when meeting him. I love everything about his talented, soulful self.

I respect Nicki, but I LOVES ME SOME RICKY.

But I digress (even though we could talk of my love for Ricky Martin for years). The partnership with these two spokespeople marks the first Latin man chosen to be a spokesperson for the brand and the introduction of VIVA GLAM RickyLip Conditioner ($14), a product for gents that goes to the cause.

Nicki’s product is VIVA GLAM Nicki Lipstick ($14.50 and a gorgeous, I must say, rich pink). These two products are limited edition and will go FAST, so get your hands on them. 100% of the proceeds of the sale of each and every product goes directly to the M·A·C AIDS Fund, which helps service men, women and children around the world afflicted with this horrible disease.

Want to see the fun that went into the creation of the ad campaign? Sure you do! Check this out and then go out there and BUY these amazing lip products for a beautiful cause. One for you, one for your best guy (or best gay – you know they LOVE some soft lips.) Go get VIVA GLAM, baby!
