There are certain products on which I have a hard time spending money. Don’t get me wrong: anyone who’s read this site knows that I have no fear of spending good money on good things, especially when they do what they say they’re going to do. Which is why there are a few luxury beauty brands I have no problem putting in front of you and saying, “This. Go forth and purchase it, for it shall solve your woes.”
Kerastase Elixir Ultime is one of those products. A cult favorite and award-winning product (36 beauty awards in total), it contains the brand’s proprietary Oleo-Complexe, which is a blend of precious oils and extracts from around the world that combine to deliver essential hydration, nourishment and strength-building goodness to your hair. The original product was one thing, but now they’ve decided to perfect upon perfection and they’re adding three new products to the line, one of which happens to be my New Favorite Luxury Hair Product: Kerastase Elixir Ultime Moringa Immortel.
The product is formulated for damaged hair. Do you have damaged hair? Have you seen your hair lately? Do you use extensive heat on your hair? What about chemical treatments? Do you color it? Highlight it? Do you constantly subject it to high temperatures, frequent washings and general torture? Yeah, then I’m most likely addressing you right now. Let’s discuss why I love this product and why I think you should give it a go.
Basically, in brief, this product takes the nourishing, hydrating aspects of the original Elixir Ultime formula and the proprietary Oleo-Complexe (which is a blend of maize, argan, camellia and pracaxi oils that create shine, nourishment and protection and deliver like Domino’s. and adds in Moringa extract. Moringa is known as “tree of life,” which, if you suffer from dry, damaged and otherwise upset-with-you hair, couldn’t sound more lifesaving. The extract goes to work to help nourish and repair damage, leaving hair silky smooth, manageable and with an intoxicating scent (think light oriental floral with a touch of citrus – it’s addictive.)
Tip Alert: don’t overdo it with application. The mindset of most people is that if a little bit does a good job, a LOT must do a world of good. That doesn’t work with beauty products. Gorgeous products like this are amazing and are highly concentrated. Follow the directions and work a small amount (between a nickel and a quarter-sized amount) between your hands and then run it through wet or dry hair.
The line not only contains the original Elixir Ultime, but the new Moringa Immortel as well as The Imperial (for color-treated hair) and Rose Millenaire (for fine & sensitized hair). If any of these conditions apply to you, I would recommend investigating these products ASAP.
Damaged hair? Amazing. Get this product and it’s basically like showing up on the doorstep with flowers, a ring and a trip to Bali, all-expenses paid. As in, a perfect way to say you’re sorry and make up for good.
