I’m excited and pretty fired up when a beauty brand offers the new Holy Grail of Hair Products. Since I test so many of them for this site and for writing clients, I’m a tough customer when it comes to making sure it does what it says it will do. About how many of these products have you actually read about on this site? Not many, right? Mkay, then. That pretty much says it all.
This little Hair Miracle of Science made the grade, courtesy of a press breakfast with the brand and the scientists behind the stuff. I listened to the claims, I nodded at the solid science behind what they’re trying to deliver. And then I gave myself a blowout with the product and…well, to quote my friend Amber Katz from Beauty Blogging Junkie, I have Other People’s Hair. My hair is light, bouncy, super soft, smooth, polished and it feels fortified. This is literally me having a Cindy Crawford Hair Flip Moment from my late 80’s supermodel dreams. This stuff is the real deal.
I won’t belabor the science behind the product, but let’s just say that products that usually help keep hair smooth and the products that offer volume don’t usually play well together – or play well with your hair at all. The basic ingredients of most of the products you buy off the shelf to achieve either of these contain silicones. Silicone when it melts turns into, well, plastic. Form plastic into a shape and it looks lovely. Shatter that plastic form by brushing through it and it breaks, taking your ends and hair with it. This product contains a mixture of Living Proof’s proprietary molecules, OFPMA & PBAE, so it can help fortify the hair from the inside to keep your hair’s structure in tact, but protect it from the outside from heat damage and styling. Your hair is lighter, smoother and your blowout lasts longer. It is, in fact, a genius product.
Again, I write about these products rarely because I won’t tell you about it unless it works. This product really works, as evidenced by my bangin’ date night ‘do above. If you desire smoothness, volume, strength, polish and heat + UV protection, this is the real deal.
