Champagne Wishes and Caviar Dreams: Introducing the World’s Most Expensive Nail Polish

Gals, I am KNOWN to throw DOWN on some beauty products. No, seriously. I love a good serum, I can justify an eye cream like nobody’s business and I will hold your hand as you sign the receipt for original La Mer. I can vouch for just about everything. I thought.

Luxury jeweler’s Azature has created the World’s Most Expensive Nail Polish…at a quarter of a million dollars for the bottle.

But today, I got a pitch for the World’s Most Expensive Nail Polish. Each bottle contains 267 carats of black diamonds and retails for…

Which made me go…

and then this happened…

People, I live for luxury and I am all about looking amazing, but EVEN if you have Sultan of Brunei money to play with, even THEN why would you buy a nail polish that costs a quarter of a million dollars? Can you imagine how ANGRY you would be if it chips? At that price, you would have to have Jin Soon Choi or Deborah Lippmann on retainer to justify the cost.

Peeps, I can justify Bentleys, costly trips around the globe, even incredibly pricey Presidential Suites when it comes to frivolous expenses. I can always nod my head at Cartier necklaces and red carpet fashion and beauty. But nail polish? Oookay..

But there is a happy ending on this one. For $25, they will sell you a noir polish with a single black diamond in it with a dazzling, glistening sheen. You can purchase it at Fred Segal starting this month of August.

What say you? Weigh in below in the comments. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this one.

Pure madness, and what a waste of diamonds! I mean, I’m clutchin’ my heart here!

Why they didn’t think to create a very special set of thin, custom pre-painted/treated acrylics that are able to be re-applied (somehow…). Or maybe more than one set. Sets where you can choose your designs. I don’t know. Anything more permanent and reusable, with a special coating to prevent chipping.

Really though, I’m just beside myself.

Excellent, highly entertaining post. You had my sister and I rolling. 🙂
