Charitable Chic: Cuyana

Cuyana Indian Canvas totes, available via Cuyana.

As someone who’s in love with the world of fashion, it’s safe to note that fashion is extremely worldly. I love discovering great accessories from other cultures and bringing a bit of the world view into my own personal style. Which is why I wanted to tell you about my new favorite love: Cuyana

This online platform, created by longtime friends Karla Gallardo and Shilpa Shah, searches the globe for amazing, hidden treasures and then allows that country’s gorgeous items to be revealed to the world. In addition to revealing gorgeous craftsman wares from around the globe, it also practices something I love: charitable contributions to the planet. They give back to these communities in a sustainable way via the development of water projects, such as Charity:Water.

I loved the concept so much that I nabbed on of their bags, the Oversized Leather Sequins Clutch, for my cocktail dress shoot for the Timex StyleWatch #WatchForIt campaign. It’s part of the new collection of accessories from India and it contains gorgeous bags (the sequined leather clutch I’m rocking in this photo is part of that collection) and the current collection also contains some of the best tote bags I’ve seen in a long time. Gorgeous craftsmanship and the perfect bag in which to throw your own worldly goods and jet off to somewhere, even if it’s just to crash at your friend’s beach or mountain house for a much-needed rest.

You can check out the rest of the platform and the current collection via their website here. Look for more amazing collections from their travels to Argentina to come soon.
