Beauty News: Charlotte Rampling In Her First Ad for NARS Cosmetics

I have always had a thing for Charlotte Rampling. One night, we were perusing the video store and came across a copy of The Night Porter, and I’ve been on a tear through her movies ever since (if you’ve never seen Swimming Pool, it’s ah-MAZ-ing.) The actress smolders with sexuality and is killing it as the new face of NARS Cosmetics, modeling the new Audacious Lipstick collection.

Um, so let’s talk about that for a second, because if you know anything about me, you also know I have a small NARS addiction. A quick trip through my makeup wardrobe as I write this post reveals that I have quite a bit of the makeup brand’s essentials, and that would include exactly ten tubes of lipstick and six lip pencils (which I absolutely consider essentials.) As a matter of fact, people ask me where my favorite lip color comes from, and it’s NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned…as in, I’ll be damned if I haven’t just discovered I need another pencil.

I digress.

The gorgeous ad you see above is Rampling modeling for the launch of the brand’s 20th anniversary collection of Audacious Lipsticks, a release of lipsticks that deliver a richly-pigmented wash of color on one swipe with enough hydration to stay put without drying or cracking your lips. The collection pays homage to the original 12 lipsticks with which Francois Nars launched his company, but he more than doubled down with this anniversary collection: there are 40 in all.

Gals, NARS makeup – at least in my opinion – is seductive stuff. Even the nudes and blushes are about allure and sensuality (we’re talking about the creator of Orgasm blush here,) and I love him for it. Look, yes, we need to cover a blemish or a line here and there, but let’s not kid ourselves: we’d love for the lipstick to get smeared off the right way, right? That’s what I thought. Go check the new lipsticks out when they hit stores on September 1st.

I don’t love it when people list a woman’s age in the title of an article, like we’re supposed to be freaked out by the fact that she’s still a sexual creature past the point of wearing a push-up bra, but Rampling is 68. There. Now, go forth and be inspired to sex it up a bit, no matter what it says on your drivers’ license.
