As I’m preparing to hit the tents to give you all the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week coverage that’s fit to write about, I thought it would be fun to take a sneak peek at what you might see while I’m there. You know, a little taste of what’s coming for spring 2012.
First up is a peek at the designs of one of my favorite designers, Rebecca Taylor. Feminine with an edge and plenty of style, her show is one that we all look forward to every year. I’ve received a sketch from the collection with a teaser description of what we’re going to see. I don’t normally cut and paste ANYTHING from a description but honestly, the text is such a perfect description of the sketch and the collection, I thought it best to let them speak for themselves:
“The Spring 2012 muse is contemporary, fresh, and ethereal. The collection emphasizes cut and color with unexpected cut-outs in silhouettes. Shades of oyster are highlighted by bold citrus colors of lemon, lime and tangerine. Cropped slouchy embellished sweaters, long skirts and voluminous outerwear in technical fabrics add edge while apron back dresses mixed with bone colored snake leather bibs inject a paired down cool attitude which sets the tone for the Spring 2012 collection.”
Gorgeous, right? What do you think? Are you excited to see coverage from the show based on the sketch?
