This dedicated post is part of my partnership with Timex. The opinions expressed below, however, are strictly my own.
While you’re walking around the tents at Fashion Week, you inevitably see some really fantastic fashion. From full-length ball gowns at 8:30 am to men in tutus and Marilyn Monroe wigs, there’s no better place to save your most outlandish look. It is, quite frankly, a chance to really let go of your inhibitions, forget all those rigid fashion rules and just be a little wild.
Hence, today’s style star really caught my attention. Theoretically, she’s wearing some rather dangerous items here – a plaid shirt, a headwrap, a ruffled vest, a tattered red miniskirt, and patterned fishnet hosiery. Yet in my opinion, her bravado is what makes this look so interesting. Understanding that a subdued color scheme was the key to success when mixing so many patterns, she came up with a look that’s part grunge and part burlesque performer – and it works.
If you want to take a walk on fashion’s wild side, take a page from our girl’s book and go for it! Just remember that darker tones tend to be more forgiving if you’re toying with tricky patterns and silhouettes. Have at it!
The only missing? A great watch! If I could have added one thing to this look, it would have been a Timex Originals 1970’s Dial Inspiration watch – just the right mixture of vintage cool and modern technology.
Thinking about unleashing your inner fashionistas? Go wild! It’s about time!
