My friend Tyler is a fashionable sort. Whenever I see him, it doesn’t matter if he’s completely casual or dressed to the nines, I always want to jack something on his person. You know how you have that stylish friend who always shows up with the ONE THING you thought you needed style-wise? That’s my relationship with the uber-fabulous Tyler Burrow.
Tyler was rocking a pair of jeans at his birthday that are still giving me sweet dreams of rock and roll groupie/hot times in the back of a tour bus/fashion-forward in a way that only Keith Richards could do better. When I asked him who made his dyed/ripped/studded sexy man pants, he replied by introducing me to the edgy, super-cool designers of one of my fave new cool rocker labels: Jordi Scott.
Jordi Scott is a local NYC label that’s a heady mixture of kitsch, rock and roll glamour and good old-fashioned sex appeal. These clothes are for people who live on stage (Justin of Semi-Precious Weapons, if you read my site, call them – this is for you) and those of us who believe that life IS a stage. In addition to customizing and turning a pair of jeans into a pure rock-and-roll fantasy, she also produces cool custom t-shirts. I’m partial to both and love the thought of wearing both with black skinnies or leggings. Cut the neck out and rock them Flashdance-style or add tons of chains and high heels for a night out. Her shirts are soft and they simply say how cool you are. Look for me to rock one of these at Fashion Week.
Rockers, groupies and those of us who just want to play one every now and then – this is how you afford your rock and roll lifestyle. Jordi Scott: get in on this.
