I am extremely picky about winter scarves. You would be amazed at how few actually make the cut when it comes to my rather particular needs, which are rather simple but strict:
- The scarf must be versatile, as in it must look good in casual settings as well as dress occasions
- It must be extremely long (as in, it should be taller than a person if held end to end)
- It must be soft , non-itchy and look expensive (I think these need no introduction)
This is why I’m completely mad for this amazing scarf from Jill Stuart. It’s 12″ wide and 6′ long, a super-soft blend of wool/cotton/viscose/cashmere and can make everything from a basic peacoat to a sequined cocktail dress look more than amazing. I’m thinking with blizzard conditions this winter it might become my very best friend.
Besides, being stylishly warm isn’t really that great of an art and it’s not really a mystical, elusive science. You just have to have the right accessories (like this scarf) and everything you own gets an instant upgrade.
