Fashion Week is a time where you are literally surrounded by men and the men who love fashion for days on end. So, when you get a chance to check out the menswear collection of Nautica each season, you – or at least I – literally jump at the chance.
The line held it’s first runway presentation this season, a change from the stationary oglefest that normally happens where we all collectively drool over the models and the amazing clothes.
This season, the brand celebrates its 30th Anniversary and the Black Sail Collection seen on the runway was inspired by the expeditions of Sir Ernest Shackleton. Some of the recurring themes include fisherman cables, novelty yarn and colored shearling.
Now, here’s something that I thought was pretty fabulous about the collection: it’s urban-ready. This is a great collection of comfortable, stylish options for the guy who wants to look current but not super trendy.
Beautiful hues that work on a variety of skin tones, silhouettes that will work on a variety of body types.
My favorite shots are in this post, but the finale walk of the collection was something I wanted to capture. Amateur video below.
