FSB Book Club Selection: Savvy Auntie, The Book For All Women Who Love Kids But Don’t Necessarily Have Them

I have a confession to make: I like kids.

Now, why is this is a huge confession, you ask? Well, because I don’t have any. I also don’t exactly have plans to get some as I am not married, not planning on getting married anytime soon and don’t really have a massive ticking biological time clock that causes me to propel myself towards others in hopes of bringing those aspects to fruition sooner than later.

Nope, I’m just a gal who loves kids. I’m a great godmother, a fabulous gift giver (I will SHAME you at birthdays and Christmas) and a toddler whisperer who loves to babysit my friend’s kids while they take a night off and, personally, that’s perfectly good with me.

For all of you in my situation or the aunt/godmother/grandmother/gay aunt or otherwise cool woman who likes kids mode, there’s a fabulous book you simply must read, Savvy Auntie:The Ultimate Guide for Cool Aunts, Great-Aunts, Godmothers, and All Women Who Love Kids (William Morrow.) Penned by Melanie Notkin, a smart and savvy aunt and lover of all things kids without having them and the creator of the wildly popular blog of the same name, it’s a fun and fabulous woman’s guide to the importance of the bond between aunts/godmothers/great aunts and those of us who have children in our lives.

There are tons of little secrets in there for those of us who are quite adept and handling children and those of us who – quite frankly – have no idea how to hold, bathe, counsel or burp a child. From the minute you find out your friend/sister has conceived to the joys of lending a hand or giving a much-needed hug, this is the best advice for those of us who love kids but don’t have them.

The book is available for pre-order starting today, so get this book for yourself or someone you love. Because we have a whole generation of beautiful kids out there who need fashionable, beautiful and stylish women to support them, love them and make sure that their lives are surrounded by strength and joy. Here’s a toast to this fabulous book and all of us out here, the savvy aunties!

I am reading this awesome book on my Kindle. Thank you for the recommendation! I posted this review on my FB page, and one of my savvy Aunt friends ordered it for her Kindle too!
