Hi all! OK, so checking in to see how everyone is doing on the challenge. I’m not going to lie – this is WAY harder than I thought it was going to be this week. The time change is kicking my ass, peeps!
SO, that being said, here is what I’ve accomplished as of this morning:
- Workout: Vinyasa Yoga at Exhale Spa (75 minutes)
- Calories: 1305
- 45 minutes of walking and running with my friend’s dog
- Calories: 1243
- No workout
- Calories: I blew it – went to a press dinner, so let’s round the number to about 1800
Today’s plan is Core Fusion Yoga at Exhale and a day focused on more veggies and more dense proteins since I was feeling hungry Tuesday and started craving white flour and white sugar. I’ve also got a non-stop day of meetings and events starting at 9;15 am and going until 9:00 pm tonight.
Fitness Tip of the Day: Stop drinking ALL soda – The best decision I made last year was to eliminate soda from my diet, and that includes all things diet soda. People, soda contains an estimated 9 teaspoons of sugar. We American consume an estimated 22 teaspoons of sugar a day (teenagers are estimated to consume about 34 teaspoons a day.) This averages to 90-180 POUNDS of sugar every year, which over time creates an extra 50 lbs of body weight. The average soda puts the average woman over her recommended caloric intake almost instantly.
Diet soda is no better. The chemicals used to create artificial sweeteners are just that – artificial. What that’s going to do to our bodies over time is still unknown, but ever notice you’re ravenous after drinking a diet soda about 30 minutes later or that you’re really thirsty? That’s because it’s not WATER.
As an alternative, I’ve switched to seltzer and flavored seltzer and just plain old water. Try it for a week or two and see if it doesn’t help you sleep, manage your mood and help with belly bloat!
How is everyone else doing out there? Let me know. I know it’s hard, but we can totally do this!
