FSB On The Scene: We Cast off with Nautica on a Fashionable Private Yacht Event

(We had a chance to do a lovely lifestyle cruise this past week with lifestyle brand, Nautica. Here’s Contributing Editor Reese Pereira’s take on the event, complete with fantastic photographs.)

Earlier this week, my lovely Editor-In-Chief, Kristin Booker, and I were invited to join some of our favorite and oh-so-fabulous New York bloggers on a sunset cruise around Manhattan with Nautica. (ed note: Lovely? Someone’s gunning for a promotion. 😉 )

Oh wow!! Can I just say that this cruise was incredible?!?  It began as an opportunity for all of us to gather with cocktails and meet some of the faces of Nautica in person (as in models) and, you know, having a face to go with a name is never a bad idea!  However, it turned into a chance to let the wind blow through our hair and mingle with our colleagues while passing Lady Liberty and incredible views of the city skyline. Who could pass that up? Not us!

We boarded the Manhattan, a yacht that was so cool and retro (I’d even say glamorous) and set sail on the Hudson River right at sunset.  Now, if you’re in NYC, you know that we were having lots of rain earlier in the week so talk about the greatest of luck: the rain and clouds started to lift in the late afternoon, which made for a spectacular sunset (see photos).  Cocktails, delicious hors d’oeuvres and deckside mingling occurred with some very handsome male Nautica models in the season’s newest styles. Can we make this a weekly event please?!? (editor’s note: yes, I vote for this and I would also like to request a chaplain at sea so I can marry Mike the Model starboard, please. pls see photos in gallery to see why I’m requesting my own personal Love Boat.)

Nautica was founded in 1983 and has evolved from a mens outerwear collection to a leading global lifestyle brand with apparel for men, women and children with accessories and a complete home collection.  According to its website, Nautica represents “both a rediscovery and a reinterpretation of what Americans have always wanted to wear.” As new converts of the brand, we’re completely on board with this sailor-inspired brand’s choice of lifestyle programming.

The new accessories are everything you think of when Nautica comes to mind: clean, sporty, and classic all-American.  My new favorite sunglasses – which I haven’t been able to stop wearing – are the new Nautica Retro Square Sunglasses in dark tortoise ($110.) Inspired by the classic Wayfarer style, they’re extremely lightweight and comfortable, not to mention very attractive on most face shapes! It’s a great look to rock everyday of the week, plus they have polarized lenses for added UV ray protection too – YAY!!

Nautica, in addition to this cruise, has a special place in my heart right now, one of my best friends (in the whole wide world) is also the beautiful face of this campaign, so this cruise was extra special to me.  I think I speak on behalf of all the bloggers on the cruise when I say thank you Nautica, we all had the best time! Please do enjoy the gallery of the event below and see if you’re inspired to live your own seaside-inspired lifestyle.
