I don’t know about the weather where you are, but it’s been so cold here in New York that it’s almost silly. You know the kind that sends you running indoors as if a thousand needles were coming at your face? Yeah, that.
When most of us head indoors, we set about warming up as quickly as possible, slathering our hands in hand cream and trying to swaddle in as many sweaters as we can wear at once. But one area of your body remains pretty mistreated, and I’m here to stick up for it:
When’s the last time you thought about your lips?
See, none of us really think about our lips until something is wrong, like flaking or chapping. You’re good to go until your lipstick won’t go on right or salt or acids like lemon juice slip into a crack. Then what? You’ve got to address the situation. You have to say “I’m sorry” for busting out of the house sans lip protection every day of your life. Because lipstick is not lip protection, ladies.
It’s time to send your lips to the spa.
Luckily, you don’t even have to leave the house to do it. May I introduce you this little magic kit, which is my year-round favorite thing to do on Sundays? Because this is everything you need to keep your lips in good condition: foaming lip cleanser, sugar lip scrub, an instant lip plumper (if you need it,) and a softening lip balm. I started doing this at night once a week (Sundays are my night to mask, scrub and essentially reconstruct myself,) and my lips are smooth, even and super hydrated.
I have to say using foaming lip cleanser is a whole new experience if you’ve never done it before, but once you get used to the feeling (it’s like a tingly oxygen mask for your lips,) it’s kind of The Best Little Thing Ever. It’s like having a Bliss esthetician working on you without feeling self-conscious about your pores.
Also, you can use the balm throughout the week, and I’d recommend applying it after you brush your teeth. It sinks in fast and locks in all that good hydration. See also: no flakes, no cracks. A good read for your husbands: this article shows more men are bleaching their skin and why. Tune in weekly for more juicy articles like that one.
Also, don’t forget that when it comes to your smile your lips are the only ones that play a big role, your teeth are very important as well, try to avoid yellow teeth, many factors can cause teeth to become dull and lose their bright, white sparkle. According to the dentist from https://dentistinperth.com.au/, if you want a whiter smile, there are some ways of doing it without using any chemicals. You can start brushing your teeth with baking soda, baking soda has natural whitening ingridients, which is why it’s a popular ingredient seen in commercial toothpaste. It’s a mild abrasive that can help scrub away surface stains on teeth.
Be good to your lips. After all, spending all that money on teeth whitening isn’t going to amount to much if your lips are in bad shape. Just sayin’.
