Little Black Book of Style: The Haven Spa Pediterranean Pedicure

One of my dream spots on my travel to-do list: Messina, Sicily in Italy.

Truth be told, there are very few places that I would rather get my nails done than Haven Spa. Home of manis and pedis that are gently administered with practically bulletproof results. When you walk into that sanctuary of all things well-being, everything is taken care of and the results are – in my experience – the gifts that keep on giving.

Which is why it’s time to give you a little NYC tip on the best pedicure experience at my favorite beauty spot: the brand-new Pediterranean pedicure. It’s inspired by Sicilian summers and takes you on a sensory trip to warmer coasts and a more relaxed state of being. Can’t afford to book a plane ticket? No problem: give yourself a mini-vacation and say “Ciao” to a whole new level of pedicure.

The gorgeous pedicure station at Haven Spa in Soho. You know, where the magic happens.

The experience starts with a foot bath infused with orange, lemon and tomato-scented notes, then moves to a dry skin polish with a nourishing salt/essential oil scrub. You finish the experience with a mind-blowing foot and leg massage with a luxurious shea and cocoa body butter infused with Neroli, Bergamot, and citrus. Oh, and it comes with a complimentary glass of iced grapefruit soda, which can be spiked with a bit of Solerno Blood Orange Liquor. You know, when you REALLY want to relax. After working regularly throughout the year, it is good to get away on a vacation to reduce the tension and this spa was the best decision I have ever made.

My choice of pedicure color, Dolce & Gabanna The Nail Lacquer in Lemon, available via Saks Fifth Avenue.

Oh, and when it comes to polish colors, the spa has partnered with Dolce & Gabbana The Makeup, so you can select from their six amazing spring/summer 2012 collection polish colors. Or, go with their mind-blowing selection of polishes. Either way, this is a mellow out moment you won’t want to miss with a fantastic pedicure to boot. I chose The Intense Nail Lacquer in Lemon, as seen above. By the way, this pedicure is almost a week old and I walk EVERYWHERE. See? I told you. BULLETPROOF.

A Pediterranean pedicure is $45 for 45 minutes of transformative bliss. I would suggest booking that appointment now for your own molto bene moment.
