When you live in NYC, there’s always a great debate: can people who live in New York REALLY like Los Angeles and vice versa? Many New Yorkers will tell you that it’s impossible to like LA, that there’s no way any New Yorker worth his or her salt could really dig it there. Folks, I am here to tell you that I must be the freak among the freakish (because NYC and LA are both equally weird): I LOVE LOS ANGELES.
Which is why when I got a phone call to head out to La La Land courtesy of Schick Quattro for Women, I had my bags packed before they even sent over flight confirmations. We had a chance to visit the set of one of my favorite online series, Dating Rules From My Future Self, and experience 48-ish hours of Los Angeles lifestyle. More on the show shortly (it’s hilarious, as I’ve said before), but let me share with you the amazing trip with my fantastic new friends from the blogosphere who I had not met before this trip but now cannot live without: Dana from Possessionista, Erika from StyleActivist and Meg from Meg’s Makeup.
First of all, let’s talk about our accommodations at the Mr C Beverly Hills. This gorgeous Cipriani Hotel has white glove service, rooms and amenities that are worthy of the Cipriani name.
As a matter of fact, I loved this hotel so much, I’m giving it its own write-up shortly. Suffice it to say, it is amazing and if you have the chance to stay there, hang out there or even dine there (the hotel restaurant has the AMAZING Cipriani menu), go. You HAVE to at least go for their signature bellinis. After all, the Ciprianis are the ones who created them.
followed by massages as Spa Montage. Ladies, as an avid spa enthusiast, I’m going to recommend the 75-minute massage at this gorgeous destination. My massage (ask for Aimee) was positively game-changing. A whole menu of services exists and I recommend making time to take a steam, soak your muscles in the whirlpool or take a dip in the bathing pool area.
You won’t be disappointed.
We also had a chance to visit the Dating Rules set to meet the writer of the screenplay as well as the stars of Season Two of the series, Candice Accola (you Vampire Diaries fans will recognize that name) and the super-adorable Reid Ewing (from Modern Family.)
I’ll share more details about the series before it premieres this month, but it promises to be as funny as Season One, if not funnier.
Schick Quattro for Women is a sponsor of the Alloy Entertainment series and somehow methinks something from the line will make its way into the hilarious plot. We’ll have to tune in to find out.
We ended the trip with dinner at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood, which was an absolutely gorgeous way to end the trip. It was also the night of my birthday, so we celebrated in style.
Something tells me I might be celebrating more birthdays in Los Angeles. Stay tuned!
All in all, I’m a fan of LA style and of the city in general. Look for a lot more LA love to come from me in the future, especially with the smooth legs I’ll need out there courtesy of my STASH (I admit to razor hoarding) of Schick razors. More news to come, but the trip was fantastic! OH, and wait for more news on the premiere of Dating Rules From My Future Self, coming this month!
