Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: Elie Tahari Spring 2011 Collection

Before The Show: Lots of VIP (non-celebrity) people were being ushered in before the doors opened for the rest of us, which to me is usually a good sign about what’s to come!

The Collection:  I really love the color scheme: gold, khaki and chambray blue.  It’s such a beautiful mix of feminine glamour and effortless chic because these three hues really do compliment one another.  The line has a very young, sexy edge to it and took some liberties with fabrics that we all really love, mixing chambray blue cotton and denim superbly. Very nautical glam!

Some of the items were strictly for the runway show from what I can tell, though: a few models were wearing bottoms that looked more like bloomers than shorts. They were beautiful, but I don’t know how they would realistically be worn off the runway.  The jackets were classic, and I was absolutely loving all the skinny belts as accessories!  Most of these pieces will make solid staples for your wardrobe. It’s a great collection of fabulous staples for work and play this coming spring.

Trend Spotting: Skinny belts on everything and the pairing of gold and khaki.  This wasn’t the first show where these trends were spotted; I think we will be seeing a lot of in next spring, so get yourself ready!
