Associate Editor Reese Pereira checks out the Tibi Spring 2011 Collection.
Before The Show: People were trying to cut line to get in before anyone else – seriously people, we all have tickets, we all will get in!! CHILL OUT! (editor’s note: this started happening a lot as the week went on. I shared Reese’s sentiments on this quite a bit.)
Overhead In the Crowd: A drunk father trying to sneak his 30-something daughter into the line and ultimately being caught and denied by security. Ha! (editor’s note: this also happened a lot. liquid courage and a lack of knowledge = failed attempts at cutting into fashion shows.)
The Collection: This Spring/Summer 2011 collection showed us a great neutral palette ( khaki, bronze, white) with amazing pops of bold oranges, yellows, and paisley prints – all of which I loved! There were some really cute spring coats, laser-cut details on dresses, and super-flattering short suits. My personal favorites were the long flowing slip chiffon dresses, especially the paisley one. That is a MUST have for me next summer! Overall, I would say that it was a very young, modern and flirty collection, perfect for turning heads this upcoming spring.
Trend Spotting: I personally liked the short suit. There was a bright jacket and short suit in “Fire” Basketweave that I definitely see young, chic women rocking in the workplace next spring and summer, or even out at the Bridgehampton Polo Classic. Truly versatile and stylish. 🙂
