As I head into the cold to resume my workout routine after a long absence, I’m feeling a whole new resolve. Setbacks happen, and it seems like I’ve had my share since I started this journey. A stress fracture last summer sidelined me for a while. I slipped a disc in yoga late last year. Now, the winter grabbed a hold of my lungs and chronic bronchitis took me out of the game for almost a month.
I wish I could say that I had a sparkling, sunny disposition during this time, but the “Why me?” of it all did come in for a bit.
But I did it. And here I am, back in business.
I worked my way through all of it, and now I want to finish what I started and am willing to start at the beginning to get it. I have to rebuild strength. I have to show up for class again, I can’t get upset that I won’t automatically resume where I left off. My ego is out of the game for the most part, but my sense of resolve is firmly in tact. You can knock me down, but I’ll be back. I want what’s mine. Gimme.
This mix is my comeback soundtrack for the week. No matter what life throws at you, never stay down. You deserve to have what’s yours. Throw those earbuds in, lace up the sneaks and get back on track. It’s time to start on the path or continue your journey, but today’s the day and you are ready.
