Ok, it looks like a few of you liked last week’s Monday Motivation Mix to help get your workouts in gear, and a couple of you even got on board and decided to follow the mix on Spotify. I like that. Let’s do that again.
As someone who will consider myself a hard rock enthusiast until I die, one of my favorite go-to’s when I need to kick in some power is a list of some of my hard rock favorites. This was further punctuated yesterday, when I was in Dana’s Soul Survivor class at SoulCycle West 77th Street and I started headbanging to “Whole Lotta Love,” a Led Zeppelin tune that is included in the live track from the band Foreigner on the mix below.
Most likely because Jason Bonham, the son of Zeppelin’s great drummer John Bonham, was playing drums for Foreigner on that tour, but that’s a different post for a different blog. Like I said, fan for life.
And when I say “headbanging,” I mean that I was running on the bike, throwing my head up and down with one hand in a devil horn formation in the air. Yep, I’m the crazy girl who gets way into her workouts when they’re good, and Dana’s class is always that good. I ride in the back row so I won’t hit/maim/scare people.
Inspired by that experience yesterday, I thought I would compile a good hard rock playlist of my own, and I’m pretty excited to share it with you. Even if you’re not into hard rock, give it a listen and see if it won’t motivate you to kick in just that little bit extra when you think you want to quit this week. This week’s mix includes some classic star turns from Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner, Hole, and Marilyn Manson, but there’s some Eminem in there with a touch of Motley Crue, and it ends with some good classic Stevie Nicks.
Try it…you might like it. All abooooooaaaaard!
