And we’re back!
I’ve been down with some crazy combination of lung drama mixed with a fever and all sorts of drama, so I am terribly off my game when it comes to workouts. That whole breathing thing is really important, and since I’ve been winded trying to climb the stairs to my apartment, I thought maybe a week or so off might be in order.
But I’m about to get back to it. Because eating to fuel workouts becomes a habit, and if I’m not fueling a workout I’m just…um…contributing to urban sprawl. Not really, but I need to get back to class.
This week’s mix is a whole collection of “danceable rock,” which I have to say is a genre sorely missing today. With overproduced power pop taking over the radio waves, I desperately need a return to good old fashioned rock. Here’s a collection of some of my favorites that will make you shake your groove thing and get you back in the swing of workouts. Prince and the Revolution, Guns N’ Roses, Lenny Kravitz, Stealer’s Wheel, Led Zeppelin, Loverboy – there’s some good stuff in here.
Also, I’m on the hunt for workout gear that has more of a rock and roll feel. Not quite Steven Tyler and his microphone stand full of scarves, but I’m suddenly consumed with finding fitness items that feel pretty rad. I’m working on staying motivated because it’s HARD to get out of bed when it’s so easy to curl back up in bed and hit the “Nope” button over and over again.
Here are some of my favorites. Let’s do this!
