By the time this post goes live, I’ll be on an airplane and on my way home for the holidays. My mother and I have a very lazy holiday scheduled with one exception: she wants me to take her to work out.
I have to say that this is a change of pace for our family. Usually, when I fly home, it’s to sit back and relax and not move further than a few feet per day while playing Let’s See How Many Carbs I Can Eat Before My Stomach Explodes. But last Christmas, I started working out at 6:30 am every day, a trend that continued the few times I came home this year. Mom’s asked if I’ll take her with me so she can get back to working out. I’m honored she’s asked, and I’m happy to share some routines and time. I have an interest in both of us as healthy as possible. I want Mom around as long as she can stay; we have many more adventures to take together.
I’ve made a separate list for Mom’s iPod with some of her favorite music, and I made one for me. If you want some current jams from artists like Skrillex, Raphael Saadiq, Justin Timberlake and Charlie XCX, check out Holiday Lights.
If you’re interested in more classic rock and some 80’s-inspired hits from artists like Journey, Foreigner, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac and U2, check out Mom Booker’s Mix. Either will get it done for you.
Happy Holidays, everybody!
