Morning Meditation: The Good Wolf Vs. The Bad Wolf Analogy

Happy Monday, everyone!

Monday morning is usually when we’re all in the most need of inspiration. That push to get back to work and tackle another week can sometimes be overwhelming. Sometimes, it helps to set an intention for the week. Here’s a good one for you, provided by my good friend and nutrition guru, Kayleigh Pleas:

One evening a Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.  He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.  One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.

The other is Good.  It is joy, peace, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

All of us have beauty within us and a rather ugly dark side. We are all capable of beautiful things and not-so-beautiful things. Which wolf will you feed this week? The choice is entirely up to you.
