Morning Post-It Pep Talk: Some Important But Forgotten Advice From Coco Chanel

In a world where we’re way more interested in people who scream at each other and act all sorts of wrong on television, this piece of advice holds a whole new level of relevance, doesn’t it? It’s a reminder of the essentials in life. Let’s remember that one of the women to whom millions of young girls look up these days started her career with a sex tape. A SEX TAPE, people. I’m not deeply interested in her, her vile family or their incredibly low rate behavior. I ask everyone else to join me.

But, I digress. Back to this lovely piece of advice from one of fashion’s greatest talents. Note that it doesn’t say that you have to be nice. Niceness is highly overrated. I believe in being well-mannered but “nice” has its place and time. “Classy” is a better trait to which we should strive and, of course, “fabulous” goes without saying.

Go forth, lovely readers, and be classy and fabulous.
