Movie-Inspired Picks: Get Zen and Inspired with Eat Pray Love-inspired items

Last Friday I got a chance to watch Eat Pray Love with a group of girlfriends and I have to say, it’s a great movie. A little slow to get started but once you’re in there, it’s a beautifully shot, exquisite piece of cinema. Now I’m a little inspired for some sojourning home, beauty and fashion picks. Want to add a bit of vivre to your vacation (or staycation, as it might be)? Read on:

As someone who recently started meditating every morning (I’m not even kidding on this one), I love beautiful candles to help me focus and brighten the scent of my room. Inspired by the movie’s lush cinematography of Indonesia, I headed to the Masters of All Things Burning, Tocca, for their luscious Bali candle ($36), which burns for 60 hours with the lush fragrances of palm sea breezes and the Champaca flower, long used in daily offerings to the Balinese gods.

You know Tocca also produces fantastic beauty items as well, right? If not, get a Julia-worthy pout with their Tocca Baci de Salina Lip Gloss ($14). Sheer, hydrating and packed with such kiss-enhancing ingredients like Aloe, Vitamin E & olive oil, it tastes of raspberry-peach and leaves a light rose color behind.

Javier Bardem’s sharp Panama hat in the movie made me really want one for myself (the man and the hat, just sayin’). I love this Christys’ of London Men’s Panama Straw Pinch Front Safari Hat ($227.95) for both men and women.

Another obsession I have is Indian wedding jewelry. This gorgeous Leslie Danzis “Devi” Crystal Bangle Set ($79.29) is a beautiful way to capture your own Bollywood moment, day or night. Don’t save these kinds of things for a special occasion, ladies. Rock them often with everything.

I’m also a big fan of colorful scarves for all seasons (air conditioning, cooler temps, whatever.) This gorgeous Lucky Brand Shaded Flower Field Scarf ($55) is very Julia-esque and will look amazing while traveling or just while walking your own city streets.

It doesn’t matter if you take advantage of a life’s journey to faraway places or just explore a little bit of your soul right at home. It’s time to eat, pray, love and, as evidenced by these picks, shop!
