Must-Have Skincare: Kiehl’s Aromatic Blends Collection

It’s really no secret that I have a serious affinity for Kiehl’s Since 1851. With quality products, inventive formulas and a mindful approach to sourcing and their impact on the world, it’s a skincare and beauty company that has great products AND soul AND heart. How could you NOT love Kiehl’s?

This week, the brand invited me to take a look at their new Aromatic Blends collection, which is a new range of fragrances and body formulas that work and smell incredible. The event transported us into an experience where we could experience all the scents and products while delving into the cultures from which they’re born.

I rarely show details from press events, but this sampling menu that gave us a chance to experience the flavor of the Aromatic Blends was too good not to share. Foodies + beauty lovers rejoice!

The collection, in addition to efficacious products, has two items of note: one, the scents only contain 25 notes, which give them a pure and luxurious aroma (and less “alcohol-y” fragrance); two, all products uphold Kiehl’s apothecary roots and dedication to ethical and sustainable sourcing.  They are impeccable and worth exploring in every way:

The Kiehl’s Since 1851 Aromatic Blends Orange Flower and Lychee collection

Orange Flower & Lychee – Inspired by the scent of a late afternoon in a Moroccan garden, this scent is lush and a rich floral which opens with a crisp note of pink grapefruit; then opens to orange blossoms, lychee and nashi blossom; and dries down to a creamy vanilla, cedarwood and fig leaf base.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Aromatic Blend Vanilla & Cedarwood collection

Vanilla & Cedarwood – A nod to Kiehl’s ethical sourcing in both Uganda and Virginia’s cedar tree region, this rich fragrance contains both scents for a smooth, creamy scent that’s woodsy and rich with a hint of sweetness as it melts into the skin.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Aromatic Blends Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit collection

Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit – This is a perfect summertime scent per its ebullient, joyous and bright notes. Nashi blossom and pink grapefruit were notes inspired by Japan and the nashi blossom encouraged a new extraction technology using ginger since the blossom itself is too delicate for such a process. If pink champagne had a real fragrance of note, this is what I imagine it would smell like.

Kiehl’s Since 1851 Aromatic Blends Fig Leaf & Sage collection

Fig Leaf & Sage – Incredibly unisex and clean, this scent is inspired by spring in Provence, the aroma of walking among fig tree and the surrounding woods. It’s opens with crisp green notes, then dries down to a clean, earthy smell. It smells light on women, more “fresh skin” on men.

Each scent in the collection comes in their Skin-Softening Body Cleansers (which provide incredibly softness while it cleans, $24) Skin-Softening Body Lotions (a savior for parched, overworked skin, $26) and a Fragrance (gorgeous, 30ml for $40, 100ml for $75.) They’re available next week (last week of June 2012) on the Kiehl’s site and will be available in Kiehl’s stores everywhere in July 2012.

Completely unsolicited, I have to tell you that this collection is one of the best to come in a really long time from ANY skincare company. Go check it out. You WILL NOT be disappointed.
