When I was a kid, I always wanted to dress myself. My beleaguered mother allowed me to walk out the house in a variety of outfits that simply did not go together for quite some time because I’ve always been a fan of mixing prints and fabrics. As I’ve gotten older, I still love to mash up things that don’t really feel like they should go together immediately, but once they’re together they suddenly work.
Take, for instance, this look. My friend and photographer came over to have a play with my new after Christmas sales items and I told him I wanted to do a piece on how to wear graphic jeans (since they’ll be all over the place in about a month.)
We played around with some pieces in my wardrobe and brought this rather daring mishmash together. I’d dare say it works and I’d also dare say that you’ll find me rocking this at Fashion Week.
Would I tell you to wear this to work? No. But would I tell you to have more fun with your wardrobe?
Yep, I most definitely would.
