I know we’re past the end of Fashion Week, but I just have a couple of things I wanted to show you. First and foremost, I wanted you to see what it’s like to go backstage at Oscar de la Renta.
In a word: breathtaking. The models are beautiful, the makeup is amazing, the accessories are unbelievable. The look this season is another no-makeup makeup look (it’s spring, they’re pretty much the norm these days) but in the hands of the amazing Gucci Westman it was turned up a notch with a winged eye that gave the look a pop of attitude, inspired by some of the prints in the collection.
As a huge fan of Hourglass Cosmetics and their impossibly beautiful makeup (even the packaging is pretty,) I have to say if you’re going for a nude face, this would be the way to do it. Here’s how to get the look from the masterful de la Renta’s Spring/Summer 2015 presentation:
Skin: Prep your skin with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, followed by Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint for a gorgeous glow. Conceal any imperfections with Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer.
Cheeks: Use the three shades in the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette: contour with Radiant Light, apply Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat to the apples of the cheeks, and finish by highlighting brow and cheekbones with Incandescent Light.
Brows: Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil
Eyes: Draw a thin line along the upper lash line with Hourglass Calligraphy Liquid Eye Liner, flicking the liner up and out at the outer corner of the upper lid. Repeat to create a thicker line, then trace over it with Hourglass 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eye Liner to enhance the tone and shape. Finish up with 2-3 coats of Hourglass Film Noir Mascara on the top lashes.
Lips: Prep with Hourglass No. 28 Lip Treatment Oil and let them sit for about an hour before using your fingers to lightly tap Hourglass Opaque Rouge Lipstick in Empress onto your lips. Finish with a dab of treatment oil for a light shine.
