I tend to be pretty simple when it comes to clothes. I love a good jacket; I’m obsessed with finding dresses that can accentuate my curves in a clean, easy way; and I have more jeans and t-shirts than I can count. I’m classic American when it comes to the wardrobe.
But when it comes to accessories, I’m like an episode of Dynasty: the bigger, the better. I want jewelry to pop. I want it to dance, I want it to sing, I want it to come out for an encore just when you think you can’t take another second of excitement, then drop the mic and leave you crying.
I think the reason I like having a wardrobe that’s simple and easy is that it acts as a gallery for the gems. My breasts are merely a display tray for a necklace, my haircut frames the earrings. I’m an Accessories Addict, and my addiction only knows one cure: more Dannijo.
This was the first time I’d had a chance to see the collection during New York Fashion Week, and it was a real treat. Designers Jodie and Danielle Snyder decided it was time to take us on a road trip where we’re free to explore our bohemian side, picking up gems and jewels from our journey along the way.
Some looks warmed the model with brass, others gave a nod to the cool blue sky with stones and silver-tone pieces that had a gorgeous Southwestern feel, check for more western pieces in the new Cow Boy Hardware collection. All of the pieces felt tribal, nomadic and quite mystical. There were flashes of Talitha Getty in some of the looks, a gorgeous nod to well-traveled boho chic. It’s a cool collection.
This cuff is my favorite piece:
