Upon entering the room to view the ADAM collection, you knew you were in for an experience, with gorgeous African baskets and hardware on the backdrop of the runway. The collection, inspired by the Kenyan port town of Lamu, displayed a hybrid of African influences coupled with the ease of American sportswear and the result was positively stunning.

With slouchy tees and button-downs paired with some of the most amazing miniskirts covered with swaying layers of wood, metal and floating layers of feathers and beautiful silk and cotton separates, the collection provided a wide array of colors, textures and fabrics that truly had the crowd mesmerized.

Gorgeous pieces for day and night flowed down the runway with statement necklaces and embroideries paired with leather clutches that are sure to be all the rage this season. This mixture of casual and chic completely upped the glamour quotient for spring 2010 and all of the looks were soft, pretty and all-out dazzling. I can honestly say there wasn’t a piece that came down the runway that I wouldn’t want in my own wardrobe and when these clothes and accessories hit stores come late winter/early spring, I’m sure you’ll feel the same. Those of us in the elevator agreed whole-heartedly: as of the close of this show, this was the collection to beat. We loved ADAM!
