After braving torrential rain to arrive at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tents for Cynthia Steffe, I was pleased to see a feminine, very wearable collection from the designer. Seemingly inspired by Monet and other Impressionist art, the designer sent flowing ruffles in beautiful watercolor patterns, blues, silver and shades of white and champagne down the runway.
With pops of punchy coral and lemon yellow standing out among other serene colors, Steffe played with masculine/feminine juxtaposition, showing flowing mini-dresses and fluttering blouses underneath loosely-constructed vests and boyfriend jackets, all in feminine hues.
The collection closed with some stunning evening pieces in white and silver that will surely be all over the red carpet.
I’m sure pop star Ciara, sitting front row at the show and looking gorgeous as ever, will agree with me that Cynthia Steffe will be bringing some feminine glamour to the red carpet as well as the streets come spring.
