Sweatshirts. There are a few wardrobe items that I live in regularly, and a good sweatshirt is one of them. I write in them, I toss them on post-workout, I run errands in them. They’re the Adult Safety Blanket of Clothing, a giant “wubbie” that you throw to give yourself a hug at the end of a long day or to keep yourself comfy and cozy for the long haul.
I have a collection of a few sweatshirts from various stages of my life, some impulse purchases (like the SoulCycle sweatshirt I live in almost every day) and some…borrowed (<cough> sorry, Scott.) And as much as I love these sweatshirts, I can’t really rock out in them at press events and in the uber-fashionista-filled events that I attend regularly.
Until this little discovery that I spied at Bergdorf Goodman while in need of a post-New York Fashion Week hug. It’s a dressy sweatshirt: all comfort with a flattering cut and leather panels on the sleeves. This is an Executive Sweatshirt, and I plan on wearing it with a myriad of coated skinnies, leather-paneled leggings, boyfriend jeans, etc. I’d like to imagine if Joan Jett were going to rock a sweatshirt, this would be the one she would choose.
And since I ordered it last Friday, it’s on its way as we speak.
Temperature’s starting to drop, ladies. Let’s add one first-class upgrade to our casual wardrobe for fall. For me, this is it.
