It has occurred to me that, as part of my admission of falling into the not-so-sexy schlump I experienced before losing weight, I am now awash in shoes that are…shall we say…more comfort that come hither. At one point, I had a wardrobe teeming over with Carrie Bradshaw-worthy spikes and label names that would stride with confidence into many situations. Now my shoes are cool but only a few would provide the platform for my more shapely backside right now. Hence, I need more options.
See how I justified that? Gotta love Retail Rationalization.
These shoes are fantastic for a multitude of reasons. First and foremost, designer Alexandre Birman is a master shoemaker, a designer with quite the red carpet presence and a way of creating a showstopper of a shoe that supports as well as it makes an impact.
That leads us to the material (green-dyed python), the details (5.5 inch heel with a 1.5 inch platform) and the color (absolutely right on point with spring’s neon/vibrant color trend.) In short, they’re calling my name, your name, everyone’s name.
These comic book-esque colored shoes seem snatched from another dimension. There’s something almost alien about the color, at which point I encourage all of us considering such a purchase to go for a minimal palette when pairing something with them. Like most incredible footwear, they ARE what you’re wearing. Let them speak for themselves.
