I love burlesque everything and I love shoes. Throw these two things together and you’ve got the makings of a rather spectacular item that I’m going to need to have in my wardrobe immediately, if not sooner.
This brings us to my new favorite obsession, spotted on the hallowed fifth floor of Saks Fifth Avenue here in New York this week. A gorgeous spring offering from B Brian Atwood, this work of magic is called the Cassiane Snake-Print Leather Fringe Sandal. It is – as evidenced by the name – a strappy sandal crafted in snake-printed leather with a metal fringe veil running across the ankle strap. In other words, it’s like a burlesque stage for the arch of your foot, an opportunity for your pedicure to do a fan dance of sorts. It’s impossibly sexy and begs to be seen immediately.
Let’s add to this the island platform (a necessity for comfort) and padded insole and you’ve not only got a sexy shoe, but a walkable one as well.
Alert Veronica Varlow: looks like we’ve got a shoe that’s officially put the “b” in “burlesque,” if not the “s” in “sex appeal” and “style.”
