I first spotted this dress on Sarah Jessica Parker in the January 2011 ELLE and have been rabid for it ever since. I don’t know what’s come over me lately but I am in a serious dress mood and it’s not going away. I’ve also got a big time obsession with Halston Heritage. Basically, I’ve got a fever and the only cure is this dress.
Besides the elegant draping and grecian-like details for which legendary designer Roy Halston was known, I live for the positioning of the sleeves. This is a dress that can hide a multitude of sins (batwings, anyone?) and I love anything that works WITH you rather than against you in fashion. Add to that the lovely apple green shade and I’m a goner.
I would recommend a more pronounced belt with it, though. Perhaps pairing it with this Marc by Marc Jacobs Ruth Chain and Leather Belt would do the trick or something similar. As a curvy girl, I fear strings around my waist. I like something that gives me more of an hourglass shape.
Looks like SJP might have hit her stride as a Creative Director. Is there anything this woman can’t do? Well, at the very least, I’ll be buying it for spring. I mean, I think it’s time to have a little sex in my city.
