Say Hello to my little friend…
I had the joy of attending a rather private blogger dinner late last year where we got a chance to see the Kenneth Cole Spring 2011 collection up close and personal (and meet the man himself) and let me tell you how many online fashionistas practically passed OUT over these gorgeous mesh sandals. It’s one of those fabulous moments where a collective group of very finicky ladies decidedly all looked at shoe, then each other, nodded and said, “Yes.” That rarely happens.
Unable to stop dreaming of these shoes, I practically stalked the site until they became available (which is, like, right now) and now it’s time to show and tell about these marvelously edgy items of footwear magic. First of all, the shoe also comes in black but we must discuss the insane versatility (and urban chic) of the Fatigue Green hue. The shoe has a 4″ heel, which might sound scary if it weren’t designed by Cole because what you can’t see within the shoe makes them impossibly comfortable and your new favorite pair. Let’s discuss, shall we?
The arch contains a unique flaxseed pillow in arch which molds to the shape of your foot for extra support. There are not one but TWO layers of Poron® foam for shock absorption, AND there are also cork and bonded cellulose comfort layers to make sure you can walk, sit, dash for a cab or keep a five year old from running off at a party in unbelievable ease.
Plus, the combination of leather and mesh makes them incredibly edgy and everyone’s favorite super cool pair of shoes, click to view collection here.
How to wear them: Your little black dress is begging for a cooler shoe than a black pump. Pair these with your favorite body-hugging style, add an oversize boyfriend blazer and a great necklace. Another alternative? A white T-shirt, rolled denim and a light-colored leather jacket.
As I said before, say Hello to my little friend…and yours, too.
