Like the rest of you, I sat back and watched the car crash that was the Charlie Sheen interview with 20/20’s Andrea Canning this week and, like the rest of you, I have so many mixed emotions about that bag of crazy that I still can’t articulate how I feel about it. Sheen is either a wicked marketing genius or coming completely unglued (or a mixture of both, maybe?) and the world is watching.
In the spirit of pop culture-inspired fashion (the “Save Winona” T-shirt, the “Camp Cupcake” t-shirt, the “Naomi Hit Me and I Loved It” T-shirt from Chip & Pepper) Chrissie Miller, her designer Madeleine Von Froomer and the iconic label SOPHOMORE have created the Winning Tee, an exclusive cotton confection of awesome with an image of good old Uncle Charlie at his bad boy hottest from a scene in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. The caption underneath the photo of Sheen at his youthful best states his new mantra (and everyone’s new catch phrase), “Winning.”
Indeed it is. Is $66 too much to pay for this little slice of awesome? That’s up for you to decide, but the T-shirt is one of the most fun pop culture references in fashion this year. I’d get my hands on one of these babies if I were you. I’m pretty sure they’ll be around for a limited-time only…kind of like Sheen’s “winning” streak.
