In a town where a fabulous party is thrown practically every night, you sort of have to make it your business to attend. I made my way to a few fun things yesterday, but it ended with the fragrance launch party for Calvin Klein’s newest fragrances, ck one shock.
Held by-invitation-only at the Meatpacking District’s newest hotspot, GunBar, the party was filled with beauty editors, downtown cool folks and celebrities, including Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford and musician Joe Jonas (both in Calvin Klein Collection,) and the stars of the campaign: including singer/songwriter Sky Ferreira, British boxing champion Robert Evans, musician Ian Mellencamp, and model Herieth Paul.
Oh, and by the way, Chace Crawford is SUPER CUTE in person. Just sayin’, folks. Like, he’s so cute he’s pretty. So is Robert Evans. Meow.
With music supplied by The Misshapes and a fun-filled atmosphere, we celebrated the brand’s historic first-time launch of fragrances that are designated toward the sexes. Where the original smash hit ck one is unisex in nature, ck one shock has a female scent and an accompanying male one, both still inspired by youthful exuberance. The campaign, shot by legendary photography demi-god Steven Meisel, follows the brand’s voyeristic campaigns, this time appearing to have caught all these good-looking people in the midst of some fabulous party, like the one we attended last night.
The male fragrance is a vibrant oriental fragrance that has notes of tobacco, spices and musk, while the female fragrance is a lush oriental with notes of chocolate and sweet musk. Both the fragrances are in stores now and are worth picking up.
You know, in case you want to start a little youthquake of your own. They’re both quite sexy fragrances, just like the party that was created to launch it.
