This is another dress from the awesome allotment sent over by Lauren Ralph Lauren. When I threw it on, I was immediately drawn to the asymmetrical hem and the cool shape. It’s a not-so-basic Little Black Dress.
Like everyone else, I believe you should always have a LBD (Little Black Dress) in your wardrobe. They’re the stuff that can solve pretty much any dilemma (invitations that are addressed “evening festive” or “holiday glam” come to mind) and can save you from spinning like a top, trying to figure out what to wear.
Unlike everyone else, I tend to add shoes and accessories that are a little over-the-top. I piled on the necklaces, then threw on studded shoes from Zara. I love Coco Chanel, but there’s a little part of me that thinks that you take that dress and you make it your own. For me, it’s taking the focus to the top and the bottom of the dress, but if you have a large belt and some strappy sandals, that’s a great, classic Ralph Lauren look. Let it be your canvas, let your imagination be your guide.
What I’m wearing: Lauren Ralph Lauren Ruffled Silk V-Neck Dress, Kara by Kara Ross (no longer available, similar styles here), Zara Studded Low Booties (no longer available, but the sweet sandal version is available and on sale), vintage beaded necklace
