I’ve reached a point in my life where the grandiose apologies for certain personality quirks have stopped. I don’t know exactly when this shift occurred, but there’s not a lot of shame in my game anymore and I’m finding that self-acceptance makes for a really happy heart and a much better sleep pattern.
Like most people in New York, I tend to find myself stretched between opportunities/meetings/obligations that require me to be in two places at once, which means that I am inevitably late for something by a few minutes. And like all busy people, I make a quick apology. About 90% of the time, I’m early but there are times when the whole time-space continuum doesn’t work out in my favor. Which is where this shirt comes in handy.
I figure now I can just arrive, smile and point to the shirt. Because, really, what is the purpose of a slogan tee if it doesn’t do a little bit of the work for you? I paired mine with some super-amazing flowing pants (nothing more chic and freaking comfortable in the summer, if you ask me), plus strappy sandals and a great bag. I’d normally wear a jacket with the look, but a great leather biker vest would also work.
Forgive yourself for not being able to be everywhere at once. Sometimes, like this look, it’s more about the effort than the delivery.
