Because today in New York is about 9,000 Kelvin on the sidewalk, I’m practicing that trick where I go somewhere in my mind. In my head, I’m in the Pacific Northwest, walking around under giant trees with a huge breeze blowing. Or, you know, a polar ice cap where I can just not sweat through my clothes every minute of every hour. Yesterday, the back of my shirt looked like someone had hit me with a bucket of water.
But for every summer day, there’s a sigh of relief when the sun goes down and we can throw on some light layers in the chill of the evening. This look is actually one of my favorites for summer movies with friends, and it’s a fun look for walking along the beach. Everything I’m wearing feels like pajamas, and can we talk about these amazing dark rinse jeans? Look awesome and expensive right? Nope. I scored them for $29.96 at American Eagle Outfitters.
There are plenty of shimmery looks for a hot summer night. Every once in a while, it’s just time for a cool summer evening in the comfort of your own clothes, enjoying the fact that they’re not sticking to you right this minute.
