There are a few rules that I love breaking, and one of them is the ability to wear white after Labor Day. I think you have to be a bit strategic in exactly how you do it – you can’t just bust into a snowy holiday party wearing a white eyelet sundress, plus you’d be freezing, which is never cute – but there are ways to do it without looking strange. Take these Hudson Jeans, for instance. Jeans that feel this amazing deserve to be rocked all year long.
I have a special place in my heart for this pair of Hudson Jeans Nico Skinnies in Ghost Owl Print. When I was trying to get the weight under control, I fell madly in love with this brand and their whole philosophy around denim. I swore that the minute I could fit into a pair, I would have arrived. And lo and behold, last year I found this amazing pair – white but not exactly white, with a shadow of a feather print across the body. And they fit. We’ll never be parted: they’re so comfortable I’ve worn them on cross-country flights. They look like skinnies, they feel like sweatpants. Winning all around, in my book.
The look I’m sporting here is one of my favorite transitional looks for moving from summer to fall, especially when you add a bright, shiny Lulu Frost necklace with it. It’s a touch of rocker glam (which you know I love) but layering is key here. Also, white denim paired with black, navy, cream, brown, and charcoal grey has a touch of jet set glamour to it. You just can’t go wrong.
Don’t pack the white jeans just yet. They’re good all year long.
