Style Remix: Nights In White Jackets

Summer is coming to a close, which means that sometime around next weekend, my favorite white blazer has to be retired in favor of decidedly heavier fare. I have plans to keep the white denim jacket layered under items for fall (and more on that later), but unfortunately, the summer weight white blazer has to be retired.

This means that I’ve got approximately two weekends left to rock the Hell out of this blazer. I happen to have a date tomorrow night, so here’s a sneak peek of what I’ll be wearing. It’s comfortable, cute and it means that I’ll get at least another look out of my favorite blazer before fall hits.

The best thing about this look? It will look amazing with a winter white jacket, tights and ankle boots come fall. That’s the thing about investing in great pieces: most of them are seasonless.

What I’m Wearing: Lulu Frost Nomad necklace, T by Alexander Wang Long Sleeve T-Shirt, DKNY shorts (no longer available), Jimmy Choo shoes, vintage clutch, H&M Blazer

Great post Kristin! It seems like summer temps are extending further and further into fall. A lot of designers I know are using much lighter fabrics in their Fall I and Fall II deliveries. I design the ABC series Castle, and we shoot “Autumn in New York” here in Hollywood in August/September, when it’s the hottest. I depend on fall colors and patterns to tell the story and keep the fabrications light.

*A good way to get more mileage out of a white cotton blazer is to use it as a shirt. Pair it with an outer piece in a fall palette and let the neckline plunge!
