Stylish Dining: The Standard Grill

When I originally moved to New York City, someone once told me that you could eat out every day, three meals a day, and never eat at the same place twice. Evidently, every day one restaurant opens while another one closes. Hence, it’s always amazing to find a restaurant that you love and adore enough to care about its existence. When we find a restaurant/bar that we love, New Yorkers can be fiercely loyal. If you want to know where to find me a good number of times a month, look no further than The Standard Grill.

Nestled into the front nook of the sleek Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District, expect random celebrity sightings and a dining experience that’s a perfect mix of comfort food and chic bistro dining.

Cocktails are seasonal and mixed to perfection, and the dishes are inspired and incredibly delicious. Start with an iceberg wedge with blue cheese and bacon, then move onto a gorgeous burger with fries or sink your teeth into the lamb chops with a delectable mousse.

For dessert, I highly recommend warm chocolate chip cookies and cool milk, a must-have if you’re going to tuck into a coffee-and-liquer drink before settling into a night home — or kicking it up for a night on the town.

Reservations are highly recommended and I’d make sure you go during the week for a stylish crowd. Girls night out, drinks after work or the perfect date night – this is the place to be.

The Standard Grill, 848 Washington St (at 13th St) in NYC. Call 212-645-4100 for reservations
