Stylish Entertaining: Sauza Cocktail Recipes for the 63rd Primetime Emmys

So, tonight is the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmys, where television’s greatest will walk the red carpet in hopes of grabbing a gold statuette inside and a Best Dressed nod from the fashion police and armchair critics (of which I am one.) Well, if you’re going to have folks over for a little red carpet massacre, you’re going to need libations to go with it, which is where some amazing cocktails from Sauza come in. The tequila brand has created some recipes inspired by some of this year’s nominated shows and stars. Run down to the liquor store and then zip by your local grocer to get the ingredients to make these fabulous drinks that will make some of the less attractive dresses more tolerable:

The Bloody Maria

The Bloody Maria (inspired by Dexter)

  •  1 ½ part Sauza® Silver Tequila
  • 7 parts Tomato Juice
  • 1 squeeze of Siracha Chili Sauce
  • 3 grinds Fresh Black Pepper
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  • Dash of Celery Salt
  • Dash of Paprika
  • Dash of Cumin
  • Several dashes of Worcestershire Sauce

Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake well and pour into a tall glass over ice, with or without salt. Garnish with a lime, an olive, a pickled jalapeño and a sprig of cilantro.

The Style Icon

The Style Icon (inspired by Project Runway and everyone’s favorite style maven, Tim Gunn)
(Serves 7)

  •  7.5 oz. Sauza® Gold Tequila
  • 4.5 oz. DeKuyper® Triple Sec
  • 24 oz. Margarita Mix
  • Lime or Orange Wedge for garnish

Combine ingredients without ice and shake vigorously. Pour the mixture into your fiercest margarita glass over ice, garnish and enjoy.

  •  1 can Sauza® Silver Tequila
  • 1 can Frozen Limeade

  • Lime Wheel for garnish

Pour limeade and beer into a pitcher with ice. Fill limeade can 2/3 with Sauza® Silver Tequila and pour into pitcher. Add a can of water, stir and enjoy.

The Mamarita

The Mamarita (an homage to Modern Family)

  •  1 ½ parts Sauza® Silver Tequila
  • ½ part Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1 part DeKuyper® Triple Sec
  • 1 part Agave Nectar
  • 1 part Fresh Lime Juice

Combine ingredients in a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a lime twist.

The Perfect 10

(Serves 8)

  •  10 oz. Sauza® Silver Tequila
  • 3 oz. DeKuyper® Triple Sec
  • 7 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

Pour Sauza® Silver Tequila into a pitcher with ice. Add in triple sec and fresh lime juice. Add sugar free simple syrup, stir and serve over ice.
